YAN PASCAL TORTELIER LEADS THE SAN FRANCISCO SYMPHONY IN ALL-FRENCH CONCERTS FEATURING SAINT-SAËNS’S SYMPHONY NO. 3, ORGAN AND RAVEL'S  PIANO CONCERTO IN D MAJOR FOR THE LEFT HAND WITH JEAN-EFFLAM BAVOUZET NOVEMBER 4-6 AT DAVIES SYMPHONY HALL

SAN FRANCISCO, October 16, 2015 – Yan Pascal Tortelier leads the San Francisco Symphony in concerts November 4-6 of French repertoire featuring fellow Frenchman Jean-Efflam Bavouzet in Ravel’s remarkable Piano Concerto in D major for the left hand, a work he and Tortelier have recorded together. Tortelier also leads the SFS in Saint-Saëns’s dazzling Symphony No. 3 in C minor, Organ, featuring the great Davies Symphony Hall Rufatti concert organ, as well as excerpts from Bizet’s Carmen Suites 1 and 2. Tortelier and Bavouzet’s recording of the Ravel piano concertos coupled with Debussy’s Fantaisie with the BBC Symphony Orchestra garnered a Gramophone Award. An Open Rehearsal takes place the morning of November 4.
