SEPTEMBER 30 – OCTOBER 3 AT DAVIES SYMPHONY HALL

Michael Tilson Thomas leads the Orchestra in Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915 with soprano Susanna Phillips, and in Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Pathétique
 

SAN FRANCISCO, August 25 – The San Francisco Symphony (SFS) will perform the West Coast premiere of Ted Hearne’s Dispatches, a piece it co-commissioned with the New World Symphony (NWS), in partnership with publisher Boosey & Hawkes as part of the New Voices project which fosters the careers of emerging composers. Michael Tilson Thomas leads the Orchestra in Samuel Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915 with soprano Susanna Phillips, and Tchaikovsky’s final completed symphony, Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Pathétique. The concerts will take place September 30 – October 3 at Davies Symphony Hall.
