STÉPHANE DENÈVE AND THE SAN FRANCISCO SYMPHONY BRING A BELOVED FOLK TALE TO LIFE WITH EXCERPTS FROM PROKOFIEV’S BALLET, CINDERELLA, FEBRUARY 18-20 AT DAVIES SYMPHONY HALL

Acclaimed violinist Nikolaj Znaider performs the Nielsen Violin Concerto, and Denève introduces music of living French composer Guillaume Connesson to San Francisco Symphony audiences
 

SAN FRANCISCO, January 19, 2016 – Stéphane Denève and the San Francisco Symphony perform excerpts from Prokofiev’s ballet Cinderella—a musical depiction of the romantic folktale. Acclaimed violinist Nikolaj Znaider performs his hallmark, the Nielsen Violin Concerto, and Denève champions the music of his compatriot, French composer Guillaume Connesson, introducing A Glimmer in the Age of Darkness in its first performance by the SFS.
